We are pleased to inform you that on 09.03.2023 voting for the Youth City Council took place in schools constituting electoral wards in the Municipality and City of Nisko. On the day of the election, students could independently elect their representatives who will then be their representatives in the structures of the Youth City Council, by the possibility of directly presenting their demands to the local authorities. The activity of the Youth City Council will certainly benefit the entire community. Thanks to its operation, the interests of young people will be represented better and the needs of young people will be fulfilled better.
The results of the voting will be announced soon.
The City Council of Nisko implemented two projects titled: "Integration through handicraft" and "Culinary heritage", which were co-financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and the state budget. As part of these projects, the Municipality purchased and handed over equipment for conducting handicraft and culinary workshops to the Project Partners, which were Rural Housewives' Club and local associations. Received equipment in the form of: heaters, pans, pots, flask, sewing machines, jigsaws, overlocks and others. It will be used to create a new offer of leisure time by organizing handicraft and culinary activities for residents. The aim is also to promote traditional and local products from the municipality and the city of Nisko, both in the field of handicrafts and culinary products. The implementation of the projects is also to be a form of preservation of handicraft and culinary products for future generations of the community, maintaining the intergenerational action. The goal is addressed to the inhabitants of the entire commune and city of Nisko.
On Sunday, December 18th 2022, an event called "City Christmas Eve. Nisko from the kitchen." This is the second thematic event that is part of the project "The heart of the city must beat – revival of the urban market and promotion of local companies", implemented as part of the project "Nisko Higher and Higher – increasing the economic potential of the city and the competitiveness of life in the city", co-financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism for the years 2014-2021.
On December 14th , 2022, the second Business Breakfast for Entrepreneurs of the County was held at the Centre of History and Tradition in Nisko. The subject of the meeting was the presentation of local companies, achievements, successes and target markets. During the meeting, 16 entities presented their companies and institutions in the labour market:
1. High School in Nisko – a secondary school with a general education profile with a 110-year tradition of operation. The school educates students in the fields of: humanities, environmental sciences, applied science and economics.
2. PPHU Rola – manufacturer of sewn packaging (bedding, ecological, advertising products).
The Municipality and the City of Nisko launched 10 air monitoring stations throughout the municipality. As part of the system, you will be able to check the emission of PM1, PM2.5, PM10, gas emissions: nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, but also check the current temperature, humidity, pressure and wind strength. All data will be presented in an interesting way on the application, which each resident will be able to download to their own phone.
The action was implemented as part of the project "NISKO HIGHER AND HIGHER– INCREASING THE ECONOMIC POTENTIAL OF THE CITY AND THE COMPETITIVENESS OF LIFE IN THE CITY", co-financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
Representatives of the Municipality and the City of Nisko together with Mayor Waldemar Ślusarczyk participated in a study visit to the Municipality of Midt – Telemark in Norway from November 29th to December 2nd , 2022. The visit was organized as part of a cooperation agreement with the Norwegian Partner – Midt Municipality – Telemark. The visit was a continuation of the cooperation established with the Partner from Norway as part of a project co-financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. The first visit to Norway was devoted to the subject of education in the era of modern technologies, aimed at educating students in the area of key competences. During the visit, we had the opportunity to get acquainted with the local education system in Norway at the level of primary school, lower secondary school, upper secondary school and university. We visited schools in Bø – the centre of the municipality and in Gvarv, as well as the university in Bø. The University educates students in the field of "sustainable development", which is currently a very popular direction in Norway.
On November 7-10, we had the pleasure of hosting representatives of the Midt-Telemark Commune from Norway. The visit was carried out in connection with the partnership agreement concluded between our communes as part of the project "Nisko higher and higher - increasing the economical potential of the city and the competitiveness of life in the city ", financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014 - 2021.
The purpose of the established cooperation with the Municipality of Midt - Telemark is to share knowledge and experience in three areas of cooperation:
- Quality and methods of education in the knowledge-based economy;
- Supporting of entrepreneurship;
- Development of the city's offer.
