On Children's Day, during the "Innovation City" event, awards were presented to the winners of the "LOW IN THE FUTURE" art competition. The awards were presented by the Mayor of the Municipality and Town of Nisko, Waldemar Ślusarczyk, and the Director of the Niżany Cultural Centre Sokół, Radosław Maziarz. The "Innovation City" event is the third thematic event planned as part of the project called "The heart of the city must beat – revival of the city market and promotion of local companies". WOn Friday, May 19, at the square of the School and Kindergarten Complex No. 2 in Nisko, the first of a series of meetings organized as part of the Senior University took place. The topic of the meeting was the role of bees in nature.

 

 

 

Wizyta NorwegówOn May 10-11, 2023, we hosted representatives of the Midt – Telemark Municipality from Norway for the third time. The group of representatives of the Partner from Norway included the Mayor of Midt – Telemark Siri Blichfeldt Dyrland, the Municipal Manager Mr. Per Dehli, the representative of the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities Ms. Inger Lysa, which brings together Norwegian cities, as well as representatives of the local government and Norwegian business. The visit took place as part of a partnership under the Local Development Programme, co-financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. The purpose of the visit was to jointly share knowledge and experience in the development and support of local entrepreneurship. Together, we discussed how cities should create space for the development of local business.

On 25th of April, the Niżańskie Career Fair was held at the Regional Center for Vocational Education in Nisko. The event was organized by the Municipality and City of Nisko, the Expert Council for Entrepreneurship, the Niżański District, the Niżański Cultural Center "Sokół" in Nisko and the Regional Center for Vocational Education in Nisko.

The fair was part of the organized business breakfasts for local entrepreneurs, which are implemented as part of the project entitled "Nisko higher and higher – increasing the economic potential of the city and the competitiveness of life in the city" co-financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.

The aim of the fair is to promote local companies from the Niżański and Stalowa Wola districts, but also to enable students of the Niżański district to get acquainted with the jobs that local companies offer.

We are pleased to inform you that on 09.03.2023 voting for the Youth City Council took place in schools constituting electoral wards in the Municipality and City of Nisko. On the day of the election, students could independently elect their representatives who will then be their representatives in the structures of the Youth City Council, by the possibility of directly presenting their demands to the local authorities. The activity of the Youth City Council will certainly benefit the entire community. Thanks to its operation, the interests of young people will be represented better and the needs of young people will be fulfilled better.

The City Council of Nisko implemented two projects titled: "Integration through handicraft" and "Culinary heritage", which were co-financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and the state budget. As part of these projects, the Municipality purchased and handed over equipment for conducting handicraft and culinary workshops to the Project Partners, which were Rural Housewives' Club and local associations. Received equipment in the form of: heaters, pans, pots, flask, sewing machines, jigsaws, overlocks and others.  It will be used to create a new offer of leisure time by organizing handicraft and culinary activities for residents. The aim is also to promote traditional and local products from the municipality and the city of Nisko, both in the field of handicrafts and culinary products. The implementation of the projects is also to be a form of preservation of handicraft and culinary products for future generations of the community, maintaining the intergenerational action. The goal is addressed to the inhabitants of the entire commune and city of Nisko.
