On October 18-22, 2023, the third study visit for representatives of Midt-Telemark in Niska was organized. The visit, like the previous visit to Midt-Telemark, was devoted to the subject of building an interesting leisure offer tailored to the needs of the residents. The visit was combined with the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the granting of city rights to Niska.
On the first day, a seminar was organized for 6 representatives of Midt-Telemark on the subject of building a leisure offer in the municipality and the city of Nisko in the area of: culture, sport, reading, tourism and volunteering. Representatives of the National Centre for Culture "Sokół" in Nisko, the Municipal Public Library, the Orkan Sports Club, the Commune Office and the Town of Nisko presented basic information on the principles of building the offer of spending free time in the municipality. In the afternoon session, representatives of Midt-Telemark took part in the second conference summarizing the implementation of this project. The conference was also attended by the inhabitants of the commune, representatives of the established social councils, councillors of the City Council and representatives of non-governmental organisations. On the second day of the visit, representatives of Midt-Telemark participated in events commemorating the 90th anniversary of the granting of city rights to Niska.
First, they participated in the laying of the time capsule at ZS-P No. 3 in Nisko (the ceremonial laying of the capsule was performed by the Mayor of the Municipality and Town of Nisko Waldemar Ślusarczyk together with the Mayor of Midt – Telemark Siri Blichfeldt Dyrland), and then in the solemn jubilee gala. At the end of the day, a gala dinner was organized for the representatives, which was attended by representatives of other partner cities of the Municipality and the City of Nisko, including those from Ukraine, Slovakia and Germany. The meeting was an opportunity to establish cooperation between 5 municipalities. During the meeting, future activities in the field of developing the partnership between the Municipality and the City of Nisko and the Municipality of Midt – Telemark were also discussed.
The partners declared their willingness to continue cooperation, in particular in the area of energy transition and the development of public services for residents. On the third day, an educational visit to Sandomierz was organized for the representatives in order to familiarize them with the history and heritage of the Lasowiacy culture, around which, together with the partners from the "Czwórmiasto" Agreement, the Municipality and the City of Nisko are building their tourist and recreational offer. At the end of the visit, representatives of Midt-Telemark participated in a concert on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the granting of city rights, which was prepared by young residents of the city.
At the end of the visit, a meeting summarizing all visits was organized, during which the partners jointly declared their willingness to develop the partnership. Areas in which partners can implement joint partnership projects have been indicated, including energy transition and activities related to reducing low emissions, as well as the creation of better public services for residents, or the development of modern IT technologies for the needs of urban development and the quality of life in the city.
